Services Offered
Services will be announced when available - scheduled to be during 2006.
Currently Porta Treatment is in use within the UK under closed controlled conditions - far more closely than normally required - due to the current non-availibility of the correct and full tested type of antifoam. Current applications are using a different antifoam yet to be fully tested for compliance with requirements. Further applications under these arrangements can be discussed provided the small area of risk is understood by clinets.
It is intended to offer several levels of service to clients.
When a client wishes to use Porta Treatment a site visit to inspect the boiler(s) in question will be required. This is to ensure all parties are happy everything is well understood and in order. As Porta Treatment is likely to be something of a step change in water treatment practice it is very important everything is as it should be from the very start.
Chemical Supply
Pre-mixed, ready to dose, treatment is available to order in sizes to suit individual requirements. The treatment is available in containers of the following capacities:
- 1kg
- 5kg
- 10kg
- 25kg
Extra antifoam is available in the following quantities:
- 500g
- 1kg
- 5kg
- 10kg
- 25kg
Please note antifoam is not available separately unless the boiler in question uses Porta Treatment.
All products are supplied with a Materials Safety Data Sheet as standard. Where international shipping is required UN approved containers are used.
When supplying chemicals a full set of written instructions as to best application procedures is initially provided to clients. All guidance required to implement a fully working system will be provided.
Beyond the initial trial/setup period it is not normal for ongoing site visits to be required.
Neutralising Agents
Where required neutralising agents can be used on drained boiler water. These can be supplied by Porta Treatment.com, however the agent recommended is citric acid, which is widely available. As such it is likely to be cheaper for clients to arrange a supply locally to themselves. However where this is not possible Porta Treatment.com will happily arrange a supply.
Consultancy
Boiler water treatment consultancy is provided as part of the standard initial application of Porta Treatment. However should further work be required separate consultancy services are available.
Additionally general "modern steam" related consultancy services are available on request. It should be noted that Porta Treatment is just one of many improvements possible to make to steam locomotives in-line with Porta's philosophy. These services are likely to be undertaken in conjunction with experts in the specific area of work. These may include, but by no means are limited to:
- Indicated testing;
- Draughting;
- Combustion systems and efficiency;
- Valvegear geometry;
- Adhesion;
- Operating and Maintenance policies;
Presentations and Lectures
Porta Treatment.com staff and associates are available to give presentations and lectures to various groups as required.
And....
Please note that Porta Treatment.com reserves the right to decline to supply goods and services if it is felt the treatment will not be administered in the correct fashion or for other reasons which Porta Treatment.com may decline to reveal. Likewise if a regime is being applied but not in the correct fashion Porta Treatment.com reserves the right to cease trading with the party in question.
